Edgar Investment Management, LLC is a fee-based full service investment management firm located in Cypress, TX. As a registered investment advisory firm we have a fiduciary duty to manage our clients’ assets in their best interest. In today’s complex investment market every investor needs a professional firm that will act as their advocate in the financial markets. Matt Edgar, CFA, CPA, CIMA© - Princpal
Matt is a lifelong resident of Cypress, TX. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of St. Thomas (Summa Cum Laude) in Houston, TX. He then earned his MBA from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Additionally, Matt has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA©) certification, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is also a member of the CFA Institute, the Texas Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Investments & Wealth Institute.
Matt is also a Director and the vice-president on the McCoy College of Business Foundation, where he chairs the Investment Committee. Matt is also a member of the Texas State University Development Foundation Emeritus Council. From 2013-2019, Matt was a Board Member of the Texas State University Development Foundation, where he served as Chair of the Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Bobcat Club Leadership Council.
In addition to his work in the accounting industry and investment management, Matt has held positions in banking, oil and gas, and the equipment rental industry.

Patrick Kline - Portfolio Analyst
Patrick grew up north of Houston in Magnolia, Texas. After high school he moved to San Marcos, Texas where he attended Texas State University for both his Undergraduate and Graduate Studies. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance (Summa Cum Laude) and is finishing his last semester to earn his Master of Science in Quantitative Finance and Economics (MSQFE) degree.
During his time at Texas State University, he was selected to represent Texas State University in the Charted Financial Analyst Institute’s Research Challenge where his team won the Southwest US Research Challenge while competing against renowned Business Universities like Rice and Baylor.
Patrick is constantly seeking out new ways to grow his knowledge in the different fields of finance but recently his biggest passion is taking what he has learned and applying it to coding software (R, Python, MATLAB).
